Sony A7 III Full-Spectrum Converted Camera – 24.2MP Full-Frame Infrared IR UV Astro Photography
Explore photography beyond visible light with this Sony A7 III full-spectrum converted camera. Personally converted and tested by an experienced camera conversion specialist, this full-frame mirrorless camera opens up creative possibilities for infrared landscapes, false-colour photography, fine art and astrophotography.
One Camera, Multiple Creative Possibilities
The full-spectrum conversion replaces the original internal UV/IR-blocking filter with clear optical-quality glass, extending the camera’s sensitivity beyond the visible spectrum. By changing the filter fitted to your lens, you can explore a range of infrared styles without committing to a single fixed-wavelength conversion.
Popular filter options include:
590nm Super Color “Goldie” for expressive false-colour infrared photography.
630nm and 665nm for different balances of colour and infrared effects.
680nm and 720nm for classic infrared landscapes and striking monochrome conversions.
850nm for predominantly monochrome infrared images.
Super Blue and other creative filters for alternative false-colour effects.
The final appearance depends on your filter, lens, lighting, white balance and editing workflow. With suitable filters and processing, you can also create images inspired by the distinctive false-colour look of discontinued Kodak Ektachrome EIR infrared film.
For conventional visible-light photography, a suitable external UV/IR-cut filter is required. UV photography requires specialist lenses and filters; results depend on the transmission of the complete optical system.
Personally Converted and Tested
I have years of experience converting Sony, Canon, Nikon and Fujifilm cameras, and I personally photograph with every camera I convert to check its operation and image quality.
After conversion, this Sony A7 Mark III was checked and its focus adjusted using a Sony 50mm f/1.8 autofocus prime lens. Performance with other Sony E-mount lenses can vary depending on the lens and filter combination.
The camera is fully functional. Please refer to the product photographs for its cosmetic condition.
